FAQ

We're sure there are lots of things you might need to know before taking flight, so here’s a list of our most frequently asked questions. Please feel free to contact us in case you won’t find your answer here!

1. Is there an age or weight limit?

Aerial Arts classes in Dubai are designed for kids and adults. Our students range from 3 to 55 years of age. Anyone can do Aerials! Over weight it’s not a limit!
There are no weight restrictions to the equipment - however certain moves will require you to support your own weight. (Bungee is the only class with weight limitations).

2. It looks hard... do you have to be strong?

Aerial fitness IS hard. But give it time and you'll get there. Within a few weeks you'll stop feeling pain and you’ll develop strength and muscles you never knew you had!

3. Will this REALLY get me fit?

Yes. Absolutely. Performing strengthening exercises while inverted is one of the most effective ways of building strength. Our customers burnt as many calories in an Aerial Silks class as they usually do in an hour long Spinning class at the gym. But if you incorporate Aerial fitness into your regular work-out program, you'll see and feel the benefits in no time of course. For more, check out the Fitness benefits under the class descriptions.

4. Do I need any dance/fitness background?

Everyone's a beginner at some point! We'd recommend coming down and giving it a go!
Sharm Circus School classes are open to people of all levels and no experience is necessary. (We promise!)

5.  Is it safe?

With proper equipment, training and supervision, Aerial Arts are as safe as any other recreational sport or rigorous physical activity you may engage in. (Needless to say, we have crash mats beneath all apparatus just in case!)

6.   I've got some persistent injuries - is this a problem?

If you've got injuries to your back, neck, shoulders or wrists, aerial activities are probably not a good idea. Better visit a specialist before starting a course.  Aerial activities are not suitable for people suffering from glaucoma.

7. Are there levels?

Adults: Yes, there are three distinct levels: Beginners, Intermediate and Advance. We always recommend to start with beginners. Once you have progressed, perfected basic moves and experienced basic inverts, you can move onto the more difficult levels. Students attending Intermediate/Advanced classes are expected to know the basic moves.
Kids Academy: There are seven different levels, that will take the child from the first steps in the circus world to adulthood where will receive a Degree of Professional Circus Artist specialized in at least two disciplines.
Level 1 starting from 3 years to 6 years.
Level 2 starting from 6 years to 10 years.
Level 3 starting from 8 years to 15 years.
Level 4 starting from 10 years to 16 years.
Level 5 starting from 12 years to 18 years.
Level 6 starting from 15 years to 22 years.
Level 7 starting from 16 years to 22 years.
